ALMERIA HOLIDAY IN THE SUN |
Getting there
Travelling to Al Andalus Thalassa could not be easier. Car hire is available from a number of outlets at the airports. We often book through CarJet in advance from whom we have always received excellent vehicles and service at a competitive price. They also provide a "pay on arrival" option which is convenient. We have also used www.arguscarhire.com and www.alandaluscarhire.com which have both proved to be reliable. Driving is also stress free and relatively straightforward as the main roads are generally traffic free compared to the UK! Almeria is reached via the E15 motorway which connects at Vera while the new AP7 toll road extends from Vera to Murcia airport. Airport pickups can be arranged independently at reasonable rates (www.resorthoppa.com) although we recommend that you hire a car to give yourself total freedom and flexibility to explore the Almeria coastline and national parks. From Almeria airport On exiting Almeria airport, go straight over 3 roundabouts signposted E15/A7. Between roundabouts 3 and 4 you travel a couple of kms. At 4th roundabout go right on the E15/A7 to Murcia. After approx 70km take Junction 529 to Vera. From Murcia airport On leaving Murcia airport, follow the signs for Los Alcazares & Cartegena – AP-7 and onto the dual carriageway. After approx 10 minutes take the exit sign-posted Murcia and Almeria – E15/AP7 (Junction 800). Follow the signs for Murcia/Vera/Almeria branching off to the right. After a short while you will come across a toll booth (34.5 km from airport ). Take a ticket and continue on this road for approximately 40 minutes taking the exit signposted Cuevas del Almanzora & Los Lobos (E15/A7) (Junction 901). The toll road costs approximately 12 euro. Detailed directions to the property will be provided...
